Vermont Young Professionals Want to Stay in Vermont

Vermont's Burlington area young professionals want to stay here, but are hampered by the cost of living, particularly the cost of single family homes, and lack of career growth opportunities.

Like so many of us in the area, the young professionals surveyed appreciate the unique culture/sense of community, natural assets, and "localvore" culture.

Still, more than 40 percent of the respondents intend to leave the state. The reason, according to the survey, is that they can't afford to buy a home.
